About the role
We are looking for an experienced web engineer with experience in both front and back-end development to join their rapid engineering team in the London office.
The purpose of the role (split 60% on front-end project and 40% on the back-end) is focused on the development and support of full service client facing projects and their own product innovation pipeline with emerging technologies. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented developer to grow your skills as part of a successful team in a fast paced, exciting environment.
What they’re looking for
They’re after someone that has come from a development background, with a strong interest in web technologies which can be demonstrated through a strong understanding of modern development practices across your skill set.
You’ll be comfortable leading front end builds from prototyping, through to static builds and backend platform integrations. You should also feel confident proposing technical solutions with clients and the internal staff, providing innovative new ideas where appropriate.
They encourage peer support and in-house learning as part of your ongoing job career development and you’ll be keen to try and learn new techniques and be good at picking up new methods quickly and applying them within the team. Maintaining a high awareness of industry issues and trends, particularly in regard to accessibility, usability, and emerging technologies is also a must.
- Experience in core web design principles including mobile-first responsive design
- Practical use of at least one RDMS and NoSQL database
- Git for source control and workflow management
- Experience working in Agile teams
- Appreciate the value of practising BDD / TDD with a general object orientated programming background
Bonus skills are, but not limited to: Developing with Keystone.js, continuous integration practises, an interest in Dev-Ops with an experience of Heroku or Amazon AWS, a background in Ruby on Rails.
